Green tea extract: A wholesome package

The most important ingredient in green tea extract is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). There, knew that would throw you off. It isn’t that challenging, really, because I can explain it all. EGCG is the primary antioxidant in green tea extract, and some studies say that it is the most powerful antioxidant that exists. I know, I know, I’ll have to explain what antioxidants are for those that want to know.
Here goes: simply put, antioxidants are chemicals that slow or stop oxidation reactions in organic substances. I’ll pass the technical gobbledygook, but from what I have learnt, antioxidants hinder and regress the growth of certain cells, and hence are the prime weapon in the battle against cancer-causing carcinogens and numerous respiratory and digestive tract infections.
Green tea extract possesses a group of chemicals called catechins, which includes bioflavonoids, polyphenols and antioxidants. Vitamins C and E also contain antioxidants, but our friend EGCG is about 25-100 times more powerful than either of the two, and has been shown to protect vital organs like the liver and kidneys. It also protects against high LDL(bad) cholesterol levels, and fights dental plaque and cavities. So, green tea extract contains catechins which provide the above benefits.
At the root of green tea extract’s strength is its origin: green tea is produced from unfermented leaves of the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis), unlike black tea. This means that green tea retains all the antioxidant properties that fermentation may destroy in black tea.
By the way, green tea extract is an ingredient in Greentea 300 . It gets better, if you can believe it. The polyphenols in green tea extract possess fat-burning properties and can accelerate metabolism, which means you can burn calories faster. Best of all, unlike most weight loss supplements, green tea extract does not affect the heart rate, so you end up with zero cardiovascular complications.
Now comes the most important question of all – where can you buy green tea extract? Like I said, I found hundreds of offers online, but to narrow down your search, I would suggest you focus on Greentea 300, that's what helped me with my weight loss while providing antioxidant benefits as well. Though it is widely available from a number of vendors, I got mine from here. As I mentioned elsewhere on this site each serving of GreenTea 300 contains 300 mg of green tea extract – that’s about 30 times more potent than any other green tea available.
Like I said before, the benefits of green tea extract and green tea itself sound too good to be true, but clearly aren’t! because I've tried it and it worked for me.
